DeSo and Bubble: Empowering Innovative Blockchain Business Models

BY Tony Lewis  |  February 4, 2022

While the DeSo ecosystem is still in its infancy, it is already proving itself as one of the most innovative and powerful blockchain platforms available. While most platforms are almost exclusively focused on speculative NFTs and DeFi fin-tech applications, DeSo is capable of far more. Because of its ability to store large amounts of user data on the blockchain it is ideally suited to power all sorts of innovative new business models.

The DeSo platform is barely a toddler, and for that reason most DeSo nodes like bitclout and diamondapp are focused on iterating on the current social feed application. Some nodes are building more exciting user interfaces, while others are focusing on creating more powerful NFT marketplaces. A few have even built special purpose apps dedicated to creator coin analysis and DeSo speculation. These applications, however, are barely scratching the surface of what's possible.

Largely, the crypto industry at large is struggling to create applications with true mainstream appeal. Sure, NFTs are all the rage. But the focus of these is almost exclusively on speculating on collections of "digital art". While DeFi is the second biggest trend focusing on payments, fin-tech applications, stable coins and cross-chain integrations, most of the innovation here is limited to highly specific financial applications that are designed to disrupt the financial industry at large.

Finally, the most established arm of the crypto industry is token speculation and trading. Bitcoin is considered the leading store of value while Ether is the runner up as the leading smart contract-enabled blockchain. These two are followed by legions of obscure altcoins focused primarily on platform level technological innovations.

But who is focused on the next generation of real world solutions designed to solve real world problems that the public at large might be interested in? Where are the applications disrupting industries like healthcare or supply chain management? Where are the platforms built to defend democracy, voting rights or public transparency?

The DeSo blockchain is well suited to powering all sorts of innovative new business models like these. Its low cost of transactions and data storage make it ideal for applications requiring large amounts of data, while its API driven architecture makes it easy to build custom applications. DeSo also provides the building blocks for all sorts of applications, making it a versatile platform for a variety of use cases. Finally, DeSo's ability to store custom data inside DeSo NFTs makes it uniquely suited for a variety of use cases involving utility NFTs.

The only problem is that entrepreneurs are still facing a bottleneck of building out these new applications. With traditional development methods time to MVP is measured in months requiring a team of both frontend and backend engineers.

Projects run into hurdles that developers need to overcome:

  • User onboarding
  • Interacting with the DeSo identity server
  • Implementing, signing and submitting transactions to the blockchain
  • Coordinating on-chain data with off-chain application data

At the DeSo NoCode Institute we believe that every aspiring cryptopreneur should have access to the tools they need to bring their ideas to fruition. That's why we've built the world's most powerful no-code abstraction layer that brings together the power of the DeSo blockchain and the market leading Bubble no-code development platform.

These two technologies that go great together bring to the table lower costs of development, faster times to market, and easy-to-implement and highly scalable infrastructure. With our technology it's easy to build powerful hybrid centralized-decentralized applications that solve real problems in the real world.
